A remarkable opportunity to hear from some of Australia's and the world's leading thinkers and practioners of urban design. The Northern Rivers Urban Design Initiative is very proud to offer the first events in the 2005 Northern Rivers Urban Design Awards calendar.

Urban Design At The Coalface Of Regional Development -
Adding Value to Projects and Community
This event brings together five urban design leaders. Share in the thinking about the critical role of urban design in creating and maintaining quality communities - from the village level to large scale regional planning. Learn how to increase the quality of your project through a better understanding and innovative application of urban design. Targeted to the needs of consultants, developers, local government senior planners and engineers, government agencies and community leaders.

Michael Kerry
 Former Executive Director, Office Of Urban Management, Queensland. Responsible for the South East Queensland Plan (released June 2005), the most comprehensive regional planning project in Australia's history.
Christopher Degenhardt

Mayne Investments 2005 Urban Design Awards Presentation
Byron At Byron Resort and Conference Centre, 5:00 – 7:00pm Thursday 18 August. Tickets to this special event are $40.00 and include canapés, drinks and the company of the urban design and development professions, Award judges and workshop facilitators.


The Honourable Diane Beamer MP will present the Awards. Jane Munro, Producer of ABC Radio North Coast will MC the Presentation.
